Wellington crime: Man writes love letter, follows woman to class

Friday, Feb. 14

  • 8:30 a.m. — 100 Bennett St., a 36-year-old man wrote a 29-year-old a love letter, only she said it freaked her out. The man followed the woman to the Lorain County Community College branch in the village, where she is a student, and parked his vehicle next to hers. Before she approached her vehicle, she called campus security and had him removed from the property. He was told he was no longer permitted on the campus. Wellington police arrived at his home and told him he was to stop having contact with the female, otherwise he will face charges.
  • 10:19 p.m. – 200 block N. Main St., a man reported the theft of his White Galaxy S4 phone. He later informed officers that the phone had been returned.
