Judith Ann McKitrick Bruce, 63, of Elyria, passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2014, in home in Abbeville, Louisiana, unexpectedly. She was born in Elyria, March 10, 1950 to Howard and Jean McKitrick.
Judy graduated from Elyria High School in 1968. She married Bradley D. Bruce of Elyria on April 4, 1970 and resided in Elyria until 2009, when she and Brad moved to Abbeville. Judy was employed by Trudy Ansel State Farm insurance, transferring to Terri Landry State Farm insurance in Louisiana, where she retired in 2012. She was an avid race fan. Judy loved to bowl, read and was a loyal Cleveland Browns fan. She was a Rainbow girl and involved with the Stone City Chapter of the Order of Eastern Stars, and Tri Ams. Serving as worthy matron, in 2001. Judy was a member of First United Methodist Church. After moving to Abbeville, God led her to Abbeville United Methodist Church, where she was welcomed and loved by Reverend John Vining and the congregation.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Howard D. and Jean R. (Harold) McKitrick.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Bradley D. Bruce; two children, Dawn M. Snider (Steve), Michael B. Bruce (Jackie); grandchildren, Alyssa Bruce, in Amherst, Justin Bruce, in U.S. Navy stationed in San Diego, California, Michael Bruce, Jr., Jamie Bruce, Kyle Snider and Keira Snider of Elyria; brother, John H. McKitrick (Charmion) of Diamond Bar, California; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins, neices and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at First United Methodist Church, Elyria, Saturday, March 29, 2014. Friends and family may call from 1 until 2 P.M. Eastern Stars will begin the service at 1 P.M. Reverend John Vining from Louisiana, will Join Reverend Dalton Love in praying for Judy. Refreshments will follow in the fellowship hall at the church. A Service will also be held for friends in Louisiana at Abbeville United Methodist Church Saturday, March 1, 2014.
