Women allege sexual assault at Lorain motel

LORAIN — A woman told police that she and her 21-year-old cousin received a text from a man they knew, inviting them to come to Erieview Motel on West Erie Avenue about 10 p.m. Tuesday.

When the two women arrived, they met the man and some of his friends, all of whom had been drinking.

Not long thereafter, one of the women told police she lost her phone and went to the bathroom to look for it. She said she was followed by one of the men who started arguing with her and threw her “into walls” in the bathroom, according to the police report.

When she opened her eyes, her pants were off and the man was on top of her, according to the report. She told police she pushed the man off, got her pants and called her mother to come pick her up. She told police she was bruised from the incident.

While she was in the bathroom, the woman’s cousin told police she remained in the bedroom with one of the other men. The cousin told police she started to leave when the man pushed her onto the bed and got on top of her. She told police she doesn’t remember what happened immediately following that but that when she came to, her sweatpants had been partially cut from her body and the man was standing in front of her with his pants unbuttoned.

Both women told police they left the motel room after the incidents and were picked up by one of their mothers.

The women were driven to the Nord Center, and police are investigating the incident. No arrests have been made yet.

Good idea takin’ ‘em to the Nord center, where they can run some tests to determine exactly what kind of brain damage these poor young ladies are suffering from that might account for their incredible stupidity.

Blaming the victim. Keep it classy.

If given the choice between classy and realistic, I’ll go with reality every time.

The best way to stop sexual assault is for men to take responsibility for their own actions and stop sexually assaulting women. It is never the woman’s fault.

It doesn’t matter what she’s wearing, it doesn’t matter where she goes, the abuse is the fault of the abuser, and nobody else.

I hear what you’re saying, but it’s nothing more than politically correct garbage people spout in hopes of changing the very nature of man, rather than instilling a healthy caution in potential victims.

To say rape victims are always totally blameless is similar to pedestrians in California, who have the right of way in crosswalks, stepping off the curb and walking into traffic without checking both ways, just because they have the right of way.

When they do eventually get smacked by a car, they’ll probably be in the right, but they could have avoided the whole getting run over and killed by a hit-n-run driver if they would have used just a tiny piece of their brain.

I agree, at what point did these geniuses determine it would be a great idea to meet a group of guys who are probably drunk/high?
