Ron Matuzek, 58, passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2014 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain, Ohio. Ron was born in Lorain, on October 21, 1955 to his loving parents, Albert and Ailene (nee Esser) Matuzek and was a lifelong resident of Lorain.
He graduated from Admiral King High School, Class of 1974. Ron was a certified mechanic for several years and also worked in the automotive industry. He was a member of St. Mary Church in Lorain, the NRA, and North American Fishing Club. He enjoyed playing darts, auto racing, fishing, camping, the outdoors and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Kurianowicz Matuzek; daughter, Kim (Jerry) Matuzek Kosco; mother, Ailene Matuzek; sister, Yolanda (Vaughn) Zajicek; grandson, Justin Kosco; step daughters, Tina Kurianowicz and Tracy Ames; niece, Jenifer; great nephew, Korey; and godson, Damon.
He was preceded in death by his father, Albert L. Matuzek; nephew, Vaughn K. Zajicek II; and grandparents.
The family will receive friends at Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2150 Broadway, Lorain (440) 244-1961 on Monday, March 3, 2014 from 4 to 8 P.M. Closing prayers will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at 9:20 A.M. followed by a Christian Mass at 10 A.M. at St. Mary Church, 309 W 7th Street, Lorain, Fr. Daniel O. Divis, Pastor, officiating. Christian burial service will be held at Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Twp. Memorial donations may be made to the APL, 8303 Murray Ridge Road, Elyria, OH 44035.
