Howard J. “Coley” Coles

OBIT FLAGHoward J. “Coley” Coles, 96, a resident of Golden Heights, Irwin, Pennsylvania, formerly of Elyria, died at home Thursday, February 27, 2014. He was born May 24, 1917 in North Huntingdon Township, son of the late Charles and Elizabeth (Williams) Coles.

He was a retired employee of Bendix Brake Company, Elyria, an Army veteran of World War II and a life member of VFW Post 1079, Elyria. Coley was an avid lifelong bowler, loved to golf and enjoyed sports in general.

In addition to his parents, he is reunited with his wife of more than 70 years, Dora E. (Davis) Coles; brothers, William, Charles, Richard and Albert Coles; and sisters, Catherine Zucco, Evelyn Bickerstaff and Betty Bouldin.

He is survived by his brother, Lloyd (Mary) Coles of Irwin; and many nieces and nephews.

Arrangements were handled by the William Snyder Funeral Home, Irwin, Pennsylvania. Interment was in Union Cemetery.
