Ronald D. Daley

OBIT FLAGDaleyRonaldRonald D. Daley, 85, of Vermilion, died Monday, March 3, 2014. He was born January 23, 1929 in Vermilion, where he was a 1947 graduate of Vermilion High School.

He served with the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany during the Korean Conflict. Ronald was employed as a tool and die maker for 33 years at General Motors, retiring in 1998. He was a member of Stonington Lodge #503 F. and A.M. and Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Cleveland.

Ronald is survived by sons, Timothy, James and Brent (Kathleen) Daley; and a daughter, Heather (Stephen) Prior; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Janet E. (nee Lumadue) Daley in 2010; and parents, James and Martha (nee Ruminsky) Daley.

Friends will be received Wednesday, March 5, 2014 from 5:30 to 8 P.M. at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Ave., Elyria. A graveside service will be Thursday, March 6, 2014 at 1 P.M. at Brownhelm Cemetery, Vermilion. Reverend June Hardy Dorsey, Rector of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, Elyria will officiate. Elyria VFW Post #1079 will present military honors.
