Avon High senior quarterback Tommy Glenn committed to the University of Toledo as a preferred walk-on — the Eagles’ first quarterback to join a Division I college roster.

Glenn is the only quarterback in the Rockets’ 2014 recruiting class, and will be one of four quarterbacks on the roster. He has also been invited to take part in the team’s summer camp.

Glenn served as the Eagles back-up before finally becoming the starter during his senior season. He completed 148 of 231 passes (64 percent) for 2,259 yards, 25 touchdowns and four interceptions during a 10-0 regular season.

Glenn led Avon to a pair of playoff victories and a regional runner-up finish, upping his single-season completion percentage to 66.1 and his career completion percentage to 63 — both school records. He also finished second in single-season passing yards and third in career passing yards and passing touchdowns.
