Elyria woman reports man demanded money from her

ELYRIA — A woman told police a man followed her to her home Wednesday, shoved her to the floor inside her apartment and demanded money.

About 11 p.m., Alexis Sherry, 20, told police she arrived home with her 3-year-old son. As soon as she parked in front of her apartment in the 100 block of Pratt Boulevard, she saw a man wandering around the area, according to the report.

Sherry gave police a description of the man, whom she said followed her as she and her son walked into her apartment building. He yelled at her to give him her money before he ran through a back door of the apartment when she started screaming, the report said.

Police found footprints in the snow leading from the back of Sherry’s apartment to another apartment on the 100 block of Portia Court. When they knocked on the door of the second apartment, no one answered, the report said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Elyria Police Department at 323-3302.
