He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and worked at BFI for 10 years. Ellis enjoyed working on cars especially Chevys and enjoyed watching old Western movies.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Irma J. Hartman of Oberlin; daughters, Audrey L. (David) Spreng of Oberlin, Carolyn (Shawn) Hill of Bennetsville, South Carolina, Amanda (Sean) Champe of Oberlin; sons, Ellis L. Hartman, Jr. of Oberlin and Tracey (Tina) Hartman of Elyria; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; sisters, Sherry Melady of Sparks, Nevada, Shelly Braun of Beckley, West Virginia; brothers, Donny, Lauren and Galen Hartman of Barstow, California.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Hartman; mother, Jeanette Hartman; brother, Allison Hartman; sister, Lane Cochran.
The family will host a Memorial Open House on Saturday, March 15, 2014 from 4 to 7 P.M. at Camden Twp. Hall (corner of Route 303 and 511.
