Ardus Marie Fesler

Ardus Marie Fesler (nee Gillette), 100, of Elyria, passed away Sunday, March 9, 2014 at the Wesleyan Village of Elyria, after a long illness. She was born January 9 , 1914 in Atlas, Michigan.

She was a 1932 graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Mt. Clemens, Michigan. Ardus had owned the Heights Drive In, she also worked for Bendix, Greyhound and Office of the Older Adults as a cook until her retirement.

Ardus belonged to the VFW Auxiliary, American Auxiliary, Moose Auxiliary and the Eagles Auxiliary. She was a longtime member of St. Judes, Elyria, she enjoyed Floral arranging and cooking.

Survivors include her daughter, Virginia Crowder of Cleveland; sons, Thomas and David; six grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Marge Gillette.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George; daughter, Juliette Weekly; and brother, Arba Gillette.

Family will receive friends Sunday, March 16, 2014 from 1 P.M. until time of service at 2 P.M. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at St. Rt. 57), Elyria, (440) 322-4626. Pastor Chuck Behrens will officiate. Burial private.
