Anthony R. Glowiske, 82, of Grafton, passed away Thursday, March 13, 2014 at University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center, following a short illness. He was born November 8, 1931 in Elyria and had been a lifelong resident of Grafton.
He was a long time member of the Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society. A 1948 graduate of Grafton High School, he had retired after 41 years as a postal clerk with the Grafton Post Office. He also served during the Korean War in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Europe. Tony enjoyed church and was influential in the process of education and ordination of two Priests serving in India. He also was a very dedicated parishioner of the former Assumption Church in Grafton.
He is survived by his sister, Helen Glowiske of Grafton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony L. and Virginia (nee Szczepanski) Glowiske; and by a sister, Dorothy.
Friends may call in the Blackburn-Duke Funeral Home, 1021 Main St., Grafton, Monday, March 17, 2014 from 10 A.M. until a Funeral Mass at 12 Noon at the Chapel of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 708 Erie St., Grafton. Rev. John Seabold, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Grafton.
