Walter Frank “Tootie” Williams, 81, of Elyria, passed ways peacefully in the Wesleyan Village, Saturday, March 15, 2014, following a extended illness. He was a lifelong resident of Elyria, and a graduate of Elyria High school, Class of 1952, where he ran track.
He was a veteran of U.S Air Force. He was a member of Lake Avenue Church of Christ and was employed as a chemical worker for the Harshaw Chemical Company in Elyria. He retired after 25 years of service. He enjoyed church, music, fashion and was an avid golfer.
He is survived by Colette Williams and his children, Vera Williams, Walter Guy and Billy Joe Williams; 13 grandchildren; threed great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty Wolfe; and a host of nieces, nephew and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter, Sr. and Marion Williams; and nine siblings.
Friends and family may call Saturday, March 22, 2014, from 10 A.M., until time of service at 12 Noon, in the Lake Ave. Church of Christ, 310 Lowell Street, Elyria. Minister Jerome Garrison will officiate. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery.
