Paul L. (Gomer) Reichlin

OBIT FLAGPaul L. (Gomer) Reichlin, 67 years old of Elyria died at University Hospital’s Elyria Reichlin_PaulMedical Center on Saturday, March 22, 2014. Paul was born on July 13, 1946 in Cleveland, and lived in Elyria all of his life.

He was a graduate of Elyria High School with the class of 1964 and served with the United States Marine Corp from 1966 to 1972. A Journeyman Tool and Die Maker, he was the owner of Contour Tool in Elyria. He was a member of St. Mary Church, the Beaver Creek Hunt Club, Oberlin Golf Club, and the Precision Machine Products Association. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, shooting, and his dogs. He was known at the hunt club as the “Dog Whisperer” and would run ½ dozen dogs at a time in the field and take them to swim. He spent time weekly pulling dogs from the Lorain County Dog Pound for his daughter, Michelle’s, dog rescue. He enjoyed spending time with his wife on the beach at their winter home on Sanibel Island.

He is survived by his wife, Yvonne Donna (nee DeFazio) of 47 years; one daughter, Michelle Reichlin and his son in law Michael Sherrill of Avon; his mother, Peg Reichlin of Elyria; three brothers, Mark, Jim, and Michael Reichlin; three sisters, Bonnie Roberts, Mary Carol Britt, and Dianne Reichlin; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard P Reichlin; his mother and father in law, Nanee and Paul Szalley; and two uncles, Reverend Father Urban A. Reichlin and Martin Reichlin.

Friends will be received at the Reichlin Roberts Funeral Home, 327 Cleveland Street, Elyria, Ohio on Monday, March 24, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 P.M. A Mass (Please meet at Church) followed by full military honors, provided by the VFW Post 1079, will be on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at St. Mary Church, 320 Middle Avenue, Elyria, Ohio at 10 A.M. The Reverend Father Charles Diedrick, Pastor, will officiate.
