ELYRIA – Students at Elyria High School are being evacuated after a bomb threat has been made against the school.
Police Capt. Chris Costantino said a call came into the Elyria Police Department shortly after 10:20 a.m. today. The caller said there was a bomb at the school.
Officers are on scene and students have been removed from the building.
“I can’t say much at this time, but we are following our protocol,” Costantino said.
This comes roughly two hours after students at the school held a peaceful rally in front of the Washington Building in support of a newly-formed gay and straight alliance at the school.
Costantino said the caller made no reference to the club or the rally. There is no indication at this time that the two are connected.
