Ralph D. Poling

OBIT FLAGRalph D. Poling, 85, of Elyria passed away Friday, March 21, 2014 at his home following a short Poling_Ralphillness. He was born February 8, 1929 in Maxville, Ohio.

Ralph was a 1949 Elyria High School graduate. Ralph served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He retired from Bendix as a machinist, then worked for 16 years at Steve Barry Cadillac. Ralph loved his family and home where he lived for 51 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, family vacations, fishing camping and working in his yard.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Bernadine M. (nee Molchan); four daughters, Denise M. Brock of Avon, Renee D. Pumphrey (Gordon) of Grafton, Carole L. Poling of Elyria, Susan E. Seljan (David) Elyria; a son, Bruce E. Poling (Bobbie) of Nashville, Tennessee; additional survivors include nine grandchildren; Joseph, Briana, Loren, Brittany, Olivia, Matthew, Danielle, Jared, Alyssa; and a great grandson, Tyler; a sister, Evelyn Rodgers (Jerry) of Elyria.

Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mary (nee Crook) Poling; two sisters, Wilma Bainter, Freida Stiverson; four brothers, Burl, Ray, Warren, Roland.

Family will receive friends 4 to 7 P.M. Thursday March 27, 2014 at The Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57) Elyria (440) 322-4626 where funeral service will be at 10 A.M. Friday March 28, 2014. Rev. Fr. Frank P. Kosem, Pastor of St. Jude Church will officiate. Burial will be at Brookdale Cemetery where V.F.W. Post # 1079 will provide full military honors.
