AMHERST — A city woman remained hospitalized Monday after the car she was driving collided with a train Sunday.
The 2005 Chevrolet Malibu Kathleen Sisler was driving was struck about 8:55 p.m. Sunday at a train crossing at Crosse Road by a westbound Norfolk Southern Railway locomotive pulling 114 cars. After being hit, the Malibu was dragged west 1,021 feet, said police Officer Troy Donaldson.
Sisler was conscious when removed from the Malibu and was in critical but stable condition at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo late Monday. The crossing has gates and lights, and police said Sisler told them she thought she stopped before the tracks.
