Isiah Leroy Ferguson, 64, of Elyria, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 following a short illness. He was born in Nashville, Tennessee, where he attended Davidson County Schools.
Leroy was employed with CMC Masonry Concrete Co. and the City of Elyria for many years. He enjoyed going to bingo, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.
Leroy leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Linda (Tarrant) Ferguson of 40 years; daughters, Wanda (Charles) Woodard of Nashville, Tennessee, Angelee (Tommy) Ferguson-Hagler and Angelina (Anthony) Ferguson, both of Elyria; sons, Lemual (Head) Tarrant, Isiah Jr. (Dana) Ferguson, Orlando (Dough) Ferguson and godson, Kerrington Rosemond, all of Elyria; sisters, Shirley Jackson, DeLois (Kenneth) Ferguson-Hill and Carol Blair, all of Nashville, Tennessee; brothers, Frank Ferguson and Nathaniel Blair, both of Nashville, Tennessee; step mother, Viola Johnson of Manchester, Tennessee; seven aunts, two uncles; 15 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Isiah Johnson; mother, Annie Giddens; and brother, Charles (Jr.) Blair.
Friends may call Monday, March 31, 2014 from 2 to 5 P.M. at the Carter Funeral Home, 127 West Bridge Street, Elyria (440) 322-7788 and Tuesday, April 1, 2014 from 10 A.M. until time of services at 11 A.M. at the Original Glorious Apostolic Church, 995 Foster Ave., Elyria. Pastor Doris Williams will officiate, Evangelist Yachecia Holston will be the eulogist. Burial will follow immediately at Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
