LORAIN — Only a week after Michael McCall’s truck was burned while parked in front of his house, a Lorain woman’s car suffered a similar fate.
Around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, police and arson investigators arrived at the 400 block of West 12th Street to meet the Lorain Fire Department, which had just extinguished flames from Starlita McCall’s 1996 Dodge, according to police. The car was parked in the street and the fire was deemed “suspicious” in the police report.
This is the fifth fire in the past two months that has started in a car belonging to a member of the McCall family, according to the Lorain Fire Department.
After Michael McCall found his truck burning outside of his house in Elyria last week, he told police he suspected it was gang-related.
McCall said the car fires could be retaliation on the family after the murder trial of 19-year-old Marquis McCall put alleged gang member Bohannon Miller in prison for 27 years to life.
Police in Lorain have increased presence around McCall family houses in the city, and they said they are working closely with Elyria police to investigate the incidents.
