Early voting for May 6 primary begins today

SHEFFIELD TWP. — Early voting begins today in Ohio. The Lorain County Board of Elections will extend office hours for the next month.

Elections board Director Paul Adams said the in-person office hours have been set by Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted. Board offices, 1985 North Ridge Road, will be open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. today through Friday and 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday.

They will be open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 8 through April 11, and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays between April 14 and May 2.

The last day of early voting is 8 a.m. to noon May 3, the only Saturday early voting is allowed before the May 6 primary election. There are no hours for early voting on Sundays as there have been in past years.
