Evelyn McCain Ryan (nee Stone), 92, of Elyria, died Friday, March 28, 2014, at Crystal Waters Retirement Home in Strongsville, following a brief illness. Mrs. Ryan was born in Cleveland, July 7, 1921, and lived in Elyria for most of her life.
She was a self-employed beautician for over 30 years and belonged to the Professional Hairdressers Association. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Elyria, the VFW Post 1079 Auxiliary and the Elyria Moose Club Auxiliary. She enjoyed crocheting and crafts and was an avid bowler and big time Cleveland Indians fan. She loved watching her boys play baseball in her younger years.
She is survived by one daughter, Janice McCain of Garden City, Michigan; three sons, Thomas of Spring Hill, Florida, Robert (Mac) (Linda) of Brunswick, and Douglas McCain of Lorain; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Thomas McCain and Jack Daniel Ryan; a sister, Charlotte Terlaak; a brother, Glenn Dell; her parents, Arthur and Laura (nee Beard) Stone; and her stepfather, Joseph R. Dell.
Friends will be received at the Reichlin Roberts Funeral Home, 327 Cleveland Street, Elyria, Friday, April 4, 2014, from 2 until 4 P.M. and from 6 P.M., until the time of service in the funeral home, at 7 P.M. The Reverend Dalton Love will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, 640 North Ridge Road, Lorain.
