Ella Bell Mallory, 90, of Elyria, passed away peacefully at the Wesleyan Village of Elyria, Tuesday, April 1, 2014 following a long illness. She was born in the Holly Hill, South Carolina, coming to Elyria 46 years from New York.
Mrs. Mallory was employed at the Elyria Methodist Home as the supervisor of the Laundry Department, retiring after 32 years of service. Mrs. Mallory attended Second Baptist Church of Elyria, she was an avid bingo player, enjoyed playing card games, cooking and driving.
Mrs. Mallory was survived by her daughters, Adele Hicks of Lorain, Marie Mallory of Elyria; son, Nathaniel (Joyce) Cummings of Portsmouth, Virginia; 15 grandchildren; 45 great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren; sister, Catherine “Betty” (Tony) Guest-Cummings of Orangeburg, South Carolina; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Syliss and Martha Guest; her first husband, Johnnie Cumming; second husband, Dennis Mallory; daughters, Virginia Bell Cummings, Tempie Mallory; sons, Dennis Mallory, Jr. and Harrison Mallory.
