Elyria police: Mall security guard says woman attacked him

Wednesday, April 2

  • 6:11 p.m. — 3300 block Midway Mall Blvd., a man said someone burglarized his Ford Explorer parked in the mall parking lot and stole his driver’s license, wallet and several other items.
  • 7:40 p.m. — Midway Mall, 3000 Midway Mall Blvd., Michelle Wright, 29, 900 block West Drive, Sheffield Lake, arrested and charged with assault. A mall security guard said Wright had been acting bizarrely and was sitting on a sidewalk when he approached her and asked if she was all right. The guard said Wright repeatedly punched him in the face.
  • 10:53 p.m. — 800 block Rosewood Drive, a person, whose name was removed from a police report, was charged with burglary. A woman said the person, with whom she had been feuding online, kicked open her apartment door and challenged her to a fight before leaving.
  • 11:10 p.m. — 200 block Fairlawn Ave., Randall Perkins, 44, same address, arrested and charged with violation of a temporary protection order. Police said they found Perkins drunk in the back of his mother’s home. She had a protection order filed against him that afternoon.

    10:53 p.m. — 800 block Rosewood Drive, a person, whose name was removed from a police report, was charged with burglary. A woman said the person, with whom she had been feuding online, kicked open her apartment door and challenged her to a fight before leaving.

      Why did the Elyria Police Department redact the name of this person? It seems that this was a run of the mill burglary, without any national security implications.
