Thomas “Red” Wallace, 67, passed away Saturday, April 5, 2014, at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Lorain, July 7, 1946, and graduated from Lorain High School, Class of 1964. He married his beloved, Catherine (nee Price) on September 9, 1967.
He worked at Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company in Avon Lake and First Energy, where he retired in 2002. He was a member of St. Mary Church in Lorain and enjoyed fishing and gardening and loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years of marriage, Catherine J. Wallace; son, John (Debra) Wallace; grandchildren, Kristen and Joshua Wallace; sisters, Mary Beth Mihalik and Joan (Dennis) Warner; and sister-in-law, Donna Wallace.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Phillip Vincent and Mary Agnes (nee McMahon); brother, James Wallace; and brother-in-law, William Mihalik.
The family will receive friends at Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2150 Broadway, Lorain (440) 244-1961, Tuesday, April 8, 2014, from 4 until 8 P.M. Closing prayers will be held at the funeral home Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at 9:20 A.M., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M., at St. Mary Church, 309 W. 7th Street, Lorain, with Father Daniel O. Divis, Pastor, as the Celebrant. Christian burial services will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
