Eiter Reyes, 60, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Friday, April 4, 2014, at the Cleveland Clinic, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born July 8, 1953 in Bronx, New York.
Eiter lived in Cleveland before moving to North Ridgeville, where he had made his home for 14 years. He recently moved to New Mexico to enjoy his retirement.
Eiter proudly served in the United States Army for 26 years, earning the rank of Sergeant. He served with the 316th. Medical detachment and also served during Desert Storm from 1990-1991. Eiter was a member of New Heights Baptist Church in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was a former member of Grace Baptist Church in North Ridgeville and Cleveland Baptist Church. Eiter received the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at the age of 15. He served the Lord faithfully during those 45 years until the Lord called him home. He was employed at NASA in Cleveland for 34 years before retiring in 2010. During his career, Eiter earned a degree in Aviation and Business Administration. Eiter was known to value education and always eager to learn something new. His hobbies included airplanes, and old cars, especially his 1969 Firebird. In his spare time, he was a professional photographer. His greatest joy was his family and passing on a Godly legacy.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 22 years, Miriam I. Reyes (nee Soto); his sons, Mark “Marco” Reyes (Annette), Irsael “Issi” Reyes (Teena), Andres “Andy” Reyes; his daughters, Frances Marlene DeJesus (Carmelo), Christina Rodriquez; his mother, Teresa Cancel of Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico; his grandchildren, Isabel, Alessandra, Liza, Eva, Evan, Elena and one on the way; his brothers, Renan Reyes (Judy), Mike Reyes, Edwin Reyes (Miriam); and his sister, Iris Robles (Ruben).
He was preceded in death by his father, Ismael Reyes; his infant brother; and his sister, Marlene Reyes.
Friends may call Wednesday, April 9, 2014, from 4 until 9 P.M., at Grace Baptist Church, 38079 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 10, 2014, 11 A.M., at Grace Baptist Church. The Reverend Dennis White, Pastor, will officiate. Full Military Honors will be provided by the North Ridgeville Veterans Military Honor Guard.
