Donald E. Wolfe, 87, of Birmingham, passed away Monday, March 24, 2014, at MetroHealth Medical Center, Cleveland, after a short illness. He was born in Elyria, December 25, 1926. He served in the U.S. Army Corp Engineers in Japan at the end of WWII.
He worked as a project manager at Ridge Tool in Elyria for many years, retiring in 1990. Don was a volunteer fireman in Carlisle Township for 50 years, a member of American Legion Post #12 in Elyria and LaGrange Engine Club. He enjoyed restoring antique tractors, fishing, gardening, bicycling and raising Christmas trees.
He is survived by his wife, Lois K. Wolfe, Birmingham; daughters, Linda J. Wolfe, Wellington, Cheryl A. Wolfe-Cragin, Birmingham; sons, Dale E. ( Linda) Wolfe, Grafton, Donald A. (Carol) Wolfe, Prescott Valley, Arizona; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Elsie Wolfe and Edward Wolfe, and brother, Richard Wolfe.
A memorial luncheon buffet will be held Saturday, April 12, 2014, at Noon, at Tom’s Country Place, 3442 Stoney Ridge Avon, 44011.
