Roberta Kreeger (nee McCord), 89, of Amherst, passed away suddenly Sunday, April 6, 2014 at her home. Roberta was born April 17, 1924 in South Amherst and spent her entire lifetime in the Amherst area graduating from South Amherst High School in 1942.
She devoted her life to that of a homemaker and her family. She was a member of St. Peter United Church of Christ, SCOA and TOPs. She enjoyed flower gardening and feeding birds. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren and especially her great grandchildren.
Survivors include her sons and their wives, Robert and Kathy Kreeger of Amherst, Ken and Kathy Kreeger of Grafton and Jack and Lori Kreeger of LaGrange; eight grandchildren, Jennifer (Brian) Redenshek, Michael (Jenna) Kreeger, Erik (Rachel) Kreeger, Greg Kreeger, Kevin (Tiffany) Kreeger, Angie (Alan) Lyczkowski, Daniel (Crystal) Kreeger and Erika Kreeger; 11 great grandchildren; and her niece, Gayle Donelson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond in 1976; her sisters, Ruth McCord and Gwen Eslinger and Florence McCord.
Friends may call Wednesday, April 9, 2014 from 5 to 7 P.M. at the Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 10, 2014 at 11 A.M. in the funeral home. The Rev. David Plant, of St. Peter United Church of Christ, will officiate. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, South Amherst.
