Donald Eugene Smith, 81, of Somerset, Kentucky, departed this life Friday, April 4, 2014, at the Jean Waddle Hospice Care Center. He was born October, 9, 1932, in Chesapeake, West Virginia, to the late Carl B. and Virginia (VanMeter) Smith.
Donald retired from Whirlaway Corporation in Wellington, and was owner of S&S Tool Company, where he was a tool and die maker. He loved to fish, garden, enjoyed playing the guitar at many functions, especially at the Pisgah School House Jam Sessions, he was an award winning singer/songwriter and attended the Pulaski Co. Alzheimer Center.
He is survived by three sons, Carl B. Smith of Elyria, Robert A. Smith of Elyria, Daniel J. Smith, of Elyria; daughter, Donna Sharp of Elyria; a brother, Jake Smith; and a sister, Eleanor Weaver.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Palm Sunday, April 13, 2014, at 2 P.M., at the Pisgah Schoolhouse, 171 Pisgah Church Rd., in Somerset.
