LORAIN — Police were searching for a man who handed a threatening note to a teller just before stealing money from the bank Saturday.
About 12:30 p.m., a suspicious man entered Fifth Third Bank at 559 Broadway and walked around for a minute before leaving, Lorain police Det. Buddy Sivert said. The man returned moments later and handed a threatening note to the teller. He then fled with the money the teller gave him, going across Broadway and heading westbound on West Sixth Street, Sivert said.
The man was about 5 feet 6 inches, thin and in his late 20s or early 30s, according to a press release. He did not use a gun in the robbery, Sivert said.
