Miss Verna Jane Pierson, 90, went to her eternal home Friday, April 4, 2014 after a short illness. She was born March 2, 1924, to Roy Maywood Pierson, Sr. and Bessie Justice Pierson in Beech Glen, West Virginia.
Prior to retiring she had worked at Elyria Manufacturing Company, Elyria, as a bookkeeper for 40 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Roy M. Pierson, Jr. Haymond Pierson and Okey Franklin Pierson; and two sisters, Vera Ann Pierson and Virginia Summers.
Surviving are two brothers, Howard Pierson and wife Janis of Chula Vista, California and James and wife Anna of Lindside, West Virginia, of whom with she had made her home with for the last 18 years; two sisters-in-law, Ann Pierson of Elyria and Jean Pierson of Taylors, South Carolina; several nieces and nephews and especially 2 great nephews, Kenny and Casey Pierson of Avon Lake.
It was Miss Pierson’s wish to be cremated and her remains will be entombed at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Lorain.
