The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force is offering a reward for information leading to the capture of an Elyria fugitive.
Joseph Stevenson, 26, is wanted by the U.S. Marshals and Elyria police for aggravated burglary, domestic violence and unlawful restraint.
Stevenson allegedly entered his ex-girlfriend’s apartment through an unlocked door on Oct. 23, and began yelling at her, then choked her and threw her to the ground, according to a release from the task force.
Stevenson also allegedly stole her phone so she couldn’t call for help, and he would not let her leave the apartment, according to the release. The victim managed to escape to a neighbor’s, where she called police.
Stevenson, who is 5-feet, 9-inches tall and weighs 220 pounds with black hair and brown eyes, is believed to be hiding somewhere in Elyria. He has a previous address near the 1800 block of Middle Avenue in Elyria.
Anyone with information on Stevenson’s whereabouts is asked to contact the task force at 1-866-4WANTED or text keyword WANTED and tip to 847411 (tip411). Tipsters can remain anonymous and reward money is available.
