Davis_JohnOBIT FLAGJohn Waller “Corky” Davis, 71, passed away Thursday, April 10, 2014 in Prescott, Arizona, after an eight month illness.

Born in Elyria in 1943, he later lived in Eaton Twp. and attended Eaton and Midview Schools, graduating in 1961. After graduation he entered the U.S. Air Force. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed skiing and track. He participated in the Senior Olympics and earned gold medals.

He is survived by his wife of almost eight years, Nada; sons, Greg of Tempe, Arizona, Sean of Forth Worth, Texas, Aaron of Tucson, Arizona; six grandchildren; sisters, Janet (Joe) Brandt of Elyria, Roger (Marge) Davis of Elyria; Rebecca (Charles “Chip”) Glass of Bothell, Washington; brother, Kurt (Tami) Davis of Nova. He is also survived by a stepdaughter, Shuana; five step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Helen Davis; sisters, Carolyn (Cloise) Kelly and Eleanor (Ron) Haynes.

Service will be held Saturday, April 19, 2014 at 2:30 P.M. at Willow Hills Baptist Church, 1071 Mogollon Rd. Prescott, Arizona 86301, with interment in Veterans National Cemetery in Phoenix, Arizona.
