Erin M. Adkins (nee Jameson), 31, of Elyria, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends, Sunday, April 13, 2014, at University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center. She was born June 24, 1982 in Oberlin and was a 2000 graduate of Elyria High School.
She then received her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Education from Ashland University. Erin was employed by The Elyria City Schools since 2005, most of that time as a ninth grade English teacher at Elyria High School. She had been an enthusiastic supporter and volunteer for The Elyria City Schools and attended many of the activities at Elyria High School. Erin enjoyed spending time with her husband, children, other family members and her cat, Gibby. She took pride in flower gardening and landscaping around her home.
Erin is survived by her husband of 10 years, Shawn M. Adkins; daughter, Shayna Adkins; son, Landry Adkins; father, Peter Jameson of Elyria; brothers, Kevin (Kerry) Jameson of Elyria, Brian (Jennifer) Jameson of Lorain; sister, Patti (Rick) Willard of Elyria; and six nieces and three nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Lenora M. “Lee” Jameson in 2012.
Friends will be received Thursday, April 17, 2014, from 2 until 8 P.M., at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. A graveside service will be Friday, April 18, 2014, at 11 A.M., at Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria. Reverend Beth McKee will officiate.
