Elyria man charged in pistol-whipping

ELYRIA — A 59-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly pistol-whipped the 20-year-old girlfriend of his step-grandson.

The man, Jackie Allwood, was arrested and charged with felonious assault and aggravated menacing at 4 p.m. Thursday at his Sheriff Street home.

The alleged victim, Michaela Schuster, of Avon, received a fractured nose from allegedly being struck in the face with a handgun, which Allwood was using to threaten her boyfriend, Steven Pruchinsky Jr., police reported. She was taken to University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center, where doctors confirmed the fracture.

Schuster told police that Allwood, Pruchinsky’s step-grandfather, was upset because he believed Pruchinsky burglarized his residence.

Allwood was taken to Lorain County Jail after his arrest.

While at the hospital, Pruchinsky was cited for possession of marijuana after police noted a smell of marijuana and searched him, according to the report.
