Francis William Reisinger, 88, of Spencer, passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center. He was born July 29, 1925 in Elyria, to Louis and Lucile (Bennett) Reisinger.
He graduated as class valedictorian from Spencer High School in 1943. On January 4, 1947, he married Eadred Walkden at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Wellington. Together, they owned and operated the Reisinger Dairy Farm in Spencer, until health issues forced their retirement in 2011.
Francis was a member of Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church, Dairy Farmers of America, and Medina County Farm Bureau. He also had been a Spencer Volunteer Fireman, substitute mail carrier, and former member of the Spencer Zoning Board.
Surviving are six children, Charlene (David) Cornish of Ashland, Melvin Reisinger of Nova, Wayne (Nancy) Reisinger of Elyria, Elaine (Ralph) Koch of Shiloh, Edwin Reisinger of Sullivan, William (Laura Mutchler) Reisinger of Wellington; 13 grandchildren, David Cornish, Jr., Charlotte Hatfield, Cathie Franks, Debbie June, Danny Cornish, Mike, Seth, Christina, and Steven Reisinger, Lynn McGinnis, Edwin Reisinger, Jr., Amanda Hodge and Rebecca Reisinger; 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Alice Yunker of Elyria; and brother, David (Brenda) Reisinger of Spencer
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Eadred; and sister, Dorothy Feron.
A Memorial Service will be held Monday, April 21, 2014, at 7 P.M., at the Parker & Son Funeral Home, 202 East Main St., Spencer (330-648-2180). Father Ron Bryda will officiate. Visitation will be Monday from 2 until 7 P.M., at the funeral home prior to the memorial service.
