LORAIN — A woman who bit off part of her husband’s lip in March 2012 is behind bars again, this time for allegedly attacking him in their home.

Lorain police responded to a call at 9:16 p.m. Thursday in the 2000 block of Washington Avenue after a man had locked himself in a closet, trying to escape from his wife.

Police found the man, Thomas Blaylock, with blood pooled underneath his eyes because his wife, Ameryst Blaylock, 28, same address, attempted to gouge out his eyes.

The report stated that “she was digging her nails” into his eyes.

Blaylock told her husband, “Look what I did to your lip; I can take your eyes, too.”

In March 2012, Thomas Blaylock told an Elyria Municipal Court judge that he still loved his wife and asked for the no-contact order to be lifted so the couple could attend counseling sessions together.

At the time, the couple resided in Elyria.

According to Thomas Blaylock, the heated argument Thursday ensued after he told his wife he wanted to end their marriage.

Ameryst Blaylock was charged with domestic violence. She is in Lorain County Jail and has a court appearance Monday at Lorain Municipal Court.
