Lorain man accused of fighting with jailers

Alan Saunders

Alan Saunders

A man with a history of violence against police punched a detention officer in the face when they tried to restrain him in jail, according to police.

Alan Saunders, 24, of the 1800 block of Turner Boulevard, Lorain, was charged with assault on a police officer around 6 p.m. on Sunday at the Lorain City Jail.

Earlier on Sunday, Saunders, who’s serving time in the jail on unrelated assault charges, began acting disruptive among other inmates, according to police. Officers took Saunders to a secluded cell to keep him away from other inmates but he fought back and threatened to urinate and defecate on the floor.

When officers tried to put Saunders in a restraint chair, he kicked the chair away and started to run before police tackled him, according to a police report.

Saunders managed to stand up and swung his fist at one of the detention officers, punching him in the left side of his face, police said. Saunders tried to run again but another officer stunned him with a Taser.

Saunders was taken to Mercy Regional Medical Center to have the Taser barbs removed. On the drive, he told officers he knew where several police officers lived and added “all I gotta do is plead insanity and I am good,” according to the report.

This is the second time Saunders has been charged with assaulting a police officer. He was given the same charge in 2010, according to the report. He was also charged with felony assault in 2010 and convicted of separate assaults in 2011 and 2013.

Saunders was being held at Lorain City Jail on a $10,000 bond on Monday afternoon.

“…..he fought back and threatened to urinate and defecate on the floor.”

So let him, its his cell. He can sleep in his own urine and feces. Who cares.

He’s a POS anyway, might as well let him sleep in it!

I wonder if the Tazer helped him with his threat to urinate and defecate on the floor?

A good yank on the wires would’ve saved the taxpayers a pointless trip to the ER.

    Stupid SHOULD hurt.

    • Alan Saunders

This is not the truth. I was the one hurt on Easter just for singing about God serving attend a sentence then turning into a alleged assault on the correctional officer a new bond Bond out. Taking it to trail and they have no video.
      It’s lies
Thanks for thinking highly of me though God bless all the strugglers out there

Pretty sure “you”didn’t type this from jail. 1 of your family members is warped enough to defend your dispicable actions.

Your story has touched my heart, I hope when they take you to the “trail” they leave you there. Write a song about the lies, in 2010, 11, 13, and now 2014, you should have plenty of time.

This is the violent type of individual who will kill if allowed back out.
