Dorothy “Carol” Trubach

Trubach_DorothyDorothy “Carol” Trubach (nee Morris), was born July 28, 1943 and passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 16, 2014, after a brief illness, or perhaps a broken heart, due to the recent passing of her beloved daughter, Tammie.

Born in Hico, Texas, Carol resided in San Bernardino, California, until moving to Sheffield Lake, where she had settled most of her life. She retired from May Department Stores Great Lakes Data Center in Sheffield Township in 2006, after diligently working there for over 40 years. Since her retirement, she held occasional classes at Domonkas Library, which were called “Crafts with Carol”. She was a skillful woman that enjoyed creating beautiful scrapbooks, floral arrangements, and also wedding cakes. She enjoyed society and culture, traveling to places such as Hawaii, Alaska, and Mexico, and culinary arts, always finding new recipes to try out in the kitchen. Carol was a dedicated member of the United Church of Christ in Sheffield Lake, where she frequently volunteered her time.

Carol was known by many and was the best kind of friend with her caring, warm, and compassionate personality. She will be sorely missed but always remembered and honored.

She is survived by her son, John R. Trubach (Dawn) of Wakeman; sister, Linda Gardner (Scott) of Bloomington, California; brother, Dwain Morris (Barbara) of Jamul, California; son-in-law, David L. Olsen of Sheffield Lake; grandchildren, David (Lindsay), Brandy, Ricky, Crystal, Sonsee and Johnny; great-grandchildren, Dominic and Maxim; her treasured animal companion, a Yorkie named Missy, and countless others that she has always held dear to her heart.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John O. Trubach; daughter, Tammie R. Olsen; brother, Kenneth Morris; and parents, Fred and Ina Mae (nee Howerton) Morris.

Family and friends are welcome to attend a memorial service in honor of Carol and her daughter, Tammie on Saturday April 26, 2014, at Sheffield Lake United Church of Christ, 603 Sunset Ave, Sheffield Lake at 12 Noon.

Memorials may be made, in Carol’s memory, to Sheffield Lake United Church of Christ.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, Lorain.
