Joanne Marie Stanislawski, 89, of Grafton, passed away Monday, April 21, 2014, in University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center, after a short illness. She was born August 6, 1924 in Lorain County and had been a lifelong resident.
A 1943 graduate of Grafton High School, she was a member of the former Assumption Catholic Church in Grafton and worked at the Grafton Theatre many years ago, as well as Western Automatic Machine and Screw. She was a home maker and enjoyed bingo, playing cards and embroidery. She is survived by her daughters, Connie Rousch of Texas, Mary Ann (Lee) Deeks of Grafton, Lynn Woodyard of Elyria, Carol (Richard) Markoski of LaGrange, Joan Strom of Oregon; and her son, Joseph Gary (Pauletta) Stanislawski of Columbia Station. Survivors also include 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph in 2001; her brother, Norbert “Nobbs” Kazmierczak; and her parents, Joseph and Gladys Kazmierczak.
Friends may call in the Blackburn-Duke Funeral Home, 1021 Main St., Grafton, Friday, April 25, 2014, from 6 until 8 P.M. A funeral mass will be held Saturday, April 26, 2014, at 10 A.M., at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 708 Erie St., Grafton, with Reverend John Seabold, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Grafton.
