ELYRIA — A Lorain man arrested in November as part of a countywide crackdown on heroin in the aftermath of a string of overdoses was sentenced Wednesday to six years in prison.

Richard Burroughs, 38, pleaded guilty to drug charges in March in a bench trial before Lorain County Common Pleas Judge Raymond Ewers.

Burroughs was arrested at an Elyria motel along with Hannah Barbee, who also faces charges in the case, following an investigation that included several controlled drug buys.

Police found a handgun, heroin, marijuana, Ecstasy, oxycodone and cash during the investigation, which included a search of Burroughs’ Foster Avenue home.
