North Olmsted officer released from hospital

Jack Justice, an off-duty North Olmsted police officer critically injured in a March 1 crash on Station Road in Liverpool Township, was released this week from MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, a Metro nursing supervisor said Wednesday.

The 43-year-old Justice, a Liverpool Township resident and 14-year officer, was struck north of Grafton Road. Police said Dalton Phillips, 23, of Columbia Station crashed into Justice and fled the scene.

Phillips wasn’t seriously injured. Police suspect alcohol contributed to the crash.
