Nick was a WWII U.S. Navy veteran, who served in the Pacific arena. He was a lifetime member of the Amvets and VFW. He owned and operated the Highland Market in Lorain from 1947 to 1975. He was also president of Caster’s Foods, Inc. in Sheffield Lake, from 1958-2007.
He was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Orthodox Church, where he sang in the choir and was president of the Mens’ Club. He was an avid boater, fisherman, bowler, golfer and he played the violin.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 42 years, Margaret Pasko Dziama; his father, The Very Reverend Father Basil Dziama, Esq.; his mother, Matushka Anna Lasichak Dziama.
He is survived by his sister, Margaretta Dziama; sons, Dr. Gregory (Terry Broski) and Douglas (Karlene); daughter, Valerie (John) Mattey; granddaughters, Susan Dziama, Jennifer Teed, Meredith Percival, Morgan Catalano; great grandchildren, Sahana Rao, Charlie and Megan Teed, Jax and Roen Percival; and his close friend, Mary Bors.
Visitation will be held at the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst, from 4 to 8 P.M., Friday, May 2, 2014, with a Parastas service at 7 P.M. Funeral services will take place at Saints Peter and Paul Orthodox Church, 2238 East 32nd Street, Lorain, 10 A.M., May 3, 2014, with church visitation at 9 A.M. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. The Veterans of Foreign War Post 451 and American Legion Post 30 will conduct military honors.
