Della Mae Coker-Knight, 82, of Columbus, with her family in Elyria, made her transition to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 following a long illness. She was born in Nashville, Tennessee, coming to Elyria at the age of 13, then moving to Columbus nine years ago.
Mrs. Knight was employed as a greeter for Wal-Mart, Elyria. She was former member of New Beginning Church of Elyria and a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church of Columbus. She enjoyed cooking, baking and had her owned resale shop at the North Ridgeville flea market. She enjoyed being with family and friends.
She is survived by her daughters, Antonia H. Ball of Texas, Marilyn West, Virginia Taylor, both of Columbus, Velita Phillips of Nashville, Tennessee; sons, Timothy Montague of Indiana, Richard Montague of Columbus, Austin Montague of Arizona; 31 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, great-great-great-grandchildren; brother, George G. Estmond of Michigan; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Knight; daughter, Mary E. Woods; parents, Christopher Coker and Mary Estmond; sister, Dorothy Wicks; and brother, Chris Coker.
Friends may call Saturday, May 10, 2014 from 10 A.M. until the time of service at 12 Noon at the Call Out Church of Almighty God, 7809 West River Road South, Elyria. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery.
