LORAIN — A Lorain teenager is accused of attacking another teenager with a baseball bat on Williamsburg Drive about 7:20 p.m. Sunday.

Ryan Singer, 19, said 18-year-old James Lavoie accused him of burglarizing Lavoie’s home, according to police Officer Todd Hite’s report. Singer said he and a friend were driving to the Burger King on Cooper Foster Road when Lavoie, who was driving a van, cut them off.

Singer said Lavoie approached the car Singer was driving and smashed the driver’s side window with a bat. Singer said he was struck on the left wrist with the bat when Singer raised his arm to protect himself. Hite wrote that Singer had a swollen face and left wrist.

Lavoie admitted to the attack, which he said was in response to Singer harassing him, according to Hite. Lavoie, of the 1700 block of Narragansett Road, was charged with felonious assault and criminal damaging.

Lavoie was held late Monday at Lorain County Jail in lieu of a $10,000 bond. His next court date was unavailable.
