Conclusion: Democrats got the Vote out, and convinced Electorate of the need to keep on spending their respective communities into an abyss.

    • Didi Pizaza

Yes blame us. I see Republicans got the word out to kill The Lorain County Crime Lab Levy and The Lorain County Transit Levy!! $ game on them! Its time The Commissioners just impose a .50 sales tax IMMEDIATELY! ! YOU FOLKS JUST DON’T SEEM TO UNDERSTAND THE NEED IS REAL! OUR COUNTY IS ONE OF A FEW WITH SUCH A LOW SALES TAX! I BET WILLIAMS WON’T SUPPORT IT!

      • Sis Delish

My browser refuses to read ALL CAP RANTS. It believes ALL CAP RANTS reveal anger. It’s a Smart Browser, FYI.

Your ALL CAP RANT should be readable by the folks continuing to control the County’s decline.

Care to re-post in lower-case so my Smart Browser will reveal how you really feel? THANKS,

“You can’t always get what you want, but if you try sometime, you might find, you’ll get what you Need”, Rolling Stones.

      • oldruss

Impose a tax hike without a vote of the people. Now that IS a Democrat’s solution.

      • Phil Seguin

Why would a sales tax rate ever need to increase? As inflation drives up prices it also drives up sales tax revenue. Any increase in a sales tax rate is simply to expand local government – not to continue what is in place. Didi can you post a link to Lorain County sales tax revenue over the last 10 years? I am pretty certain that the trend would be obvious.

      • JoyceEarly

Didi Pizaza, no thanks! I would like to continue to have a say. Are you seriously someone who loves taxes? You may want to see someone about that!

        • Bill Jackson

Don’t mess with Flying Squid on Raw Story. He is also the moderator Frank Gorshin, and the dreadful fling glove. He will just bait you into an argument, and then ban you.

          He is a pompous jerk.

      • golfingirl

What is a 0.50 sales tax?

Did you mean a 5% sales tax? A 1/2% sales tax? Is this an increase, or a new tax rate?

Regardless of the amount, the Commissioners cannot “impose” a tax increase on the electorate. This is why we have voting. What country do you think you live in?

Also, is calling people “folks” a democrat thing? This is how Obama refers to Americans. Drives me crazy.

By the way…..feel free to contribute more on your own. The city has a process to accept such “donations.”

      • Simon Jester

Yeah, how about F*** you and your “Need”.

Convenient, when the Democratic process doesn’t garner the results Democrats want.

  • Matthew Baldauf

Im going to be pi**ed if i see any more military vehicles being bought or more city employees driving around in new jeep patriots after this tax increase. We already passed a levy for road improvement which was poorly used and now we’re just giving them more taxes without any concrete commitment to specific projects?
