Bruce W. Hales

OBIT FLAGBruce W. Hales, 69, of Elyria, passed away suddenly at his home Sunday, May 4, 2014. He was born November 10, 1944 in Elyria, where he lived his entire life.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1965-1970 and was a technician on the Polaris missile carrying submarines. Bruce worked as a machinist at Westlake Tool and Die, retiring in 2014. He was an avid reader and could be seen reading even during the long walks he enjoyed.

Bruce is survived by his mother, Catherine Pszenitzki of Elyria; brother, Paul Hales of Bullhead City, Arizona; nephew, Brian Hales of Elyria; great nephew, Brian Hales, Jr. of Elyria.

He was preceded in death by his father, Paul in 1967.

Family will receive friends in the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., N. Ridgeville, Thursday, May 8, 2014 from 5 to 8 P.M. and Friday, May 9, 2014, where a prayer service will be held at 10:30 A.M. preceding an 11 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Jude Catholic Church. Reverend Frank Kosem will officiate. Interment, with full Military Honors by V.F.W. Post 9871, will be in St. Peter Cemetery.
