Eileen Murawski (nee Mahl), 91, of Elyria, died Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at Ames Family Hospice House in Westlake, following a 2 year illness. Eileen was born September 2, 1922 and lived here all of her life.
She is a graduate of Elyria High School with the class of 1940 and was a life time member of St. Mary Catholic Church where she was a past member of the church’s Altar and Rosary Society. She was a member of the Elyria Senior Women’s Fellowship, the United Polish Club where she was named “Mother of the Year” in 2002 and the GMNO Card Club. She enjoyed playing cards, doing crafts, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was an avid Cleveland Indians fan.
Eileen is survived by five children, Carol (Chet) Roswell, Marcia (Bill) Machovina and Jack Murawski, all of Elyria, Rick (Debbie) Murawski of LaGrange and Sherri (Jerry) Crawford of Berlin Heights, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren; she is also survived by one brother, Earl Mahl of Elyria.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Murawski in 1998 after 57 years of marriage; a brother, Bob Mahl; and her parents, Ben and Mary (nee Ternes) Mahl.
Friends will be received at the Reichlin Roberts Funeral Home, 327 Cleveland Street, Elyria, Friday, May 9, 2014 from 4 to 7 P.M. Closing prayers will be in the funeral home Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 12:30 P.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1 P.M. at St. Mary Church, 320 Middle Avenue, Elyria. The Reverend Father Charles Diedrick, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Elyria.
