Lloyd David Smith

OBIT FLAGLloyd David Smith, 86, of Ashland, died Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at Hospice House. He was born March 31, 1928, in Urbana, Ohio, the son of Russell L. and Edith P. Spencer Smith.

He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Korean Conflict and worked as a toolmaker for CMS Tool and Die. Lloyd was a life member of the VFW, Amvets and American Legion, and was a member of the National Rifle Association.

He is survived by three daughters, Patricia Vasi of Elyria, Lisa Phillips of Tucson, Arizona, and Joi Thompson of Kokomo, Indiana; two sons, Patrick Smith of Ashland and Robert Smith of Tucson, Arizona; three stepsons, Leonard Resar, Richard (Gena) Resar and Robert (Patty) Resar; 16 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Patricia Smith on September 24, 2002; a brother, Charles Smith and a sister, Sylvia Devereaux.

Graveside services will be 9:30 A.M., Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
