LORAIN — When police asked a man who was driving with a suspended license how much he had been drinking, he told them, “not enough,” according to a police report.

James Lasure Jr., 25, was charged with driving under suspension and operating a vehicle impaired around the 100 block of West 32nd Street at 7:45 p.m. Saturday.

Police found that Lasure was driving with a suspended license. However, when they tried to pull him over, Lasure continued driving before parking in a driveway on the 100 block of West 32nd Street, the report said.

An officer approached Lasure’s car and found his 1-year-old daughter in the back seat, unharmed. When they searched his car, police found a small amount of marijuana in a cigarette pack.

Lasure was taken to Lorain County Jail, where he was held on Monday.
