ELYRIA — Police searched the home of two suspected drug traffickers Tuesday to find cocaine, a gun and the two men living in “deplorable” conditions, according to police.

Mario McCray, 33, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, having weapons under disability and four counts of trafficking cocaine about 2:15 p.m. at his home at 504 Fairmount St.

McCray’s roommate, 21-year-old Anthony McShepherd, was charged with trafficking cocaine and possession of cocaine at the same time.

Police began investigating the men after receiving numerous calls since March from their neighbors about possible drug activity at the house, Elyria police Capt. Chris Costantino said.

When police searched the home they found the two men inside along with a loaded .22-caliber semi-automatic pistol and crack cocaine, Costantino said.

But it was the condition of the rental home that had police call the city’s Building Department. Kevin Brubaker, the department’s senior manager, said the house was not suitable to live in.

Costantino described the house as “deplorable,” and said that there were structural, plumbing and electric issues that made it unsafe.

The men were taken to Lorain County Jail where they were being held Thursday.

Police are already familiar with McCray, who has a lengthy criminal record in Lorain County dating to 2000 when he was found guilty of possession of cocaine, obstructing official business and possession of drug paraphernalia. That same year he was found guilty of trying to escape from custody. McCray was found guilty of multiple drug charges in the years following, with the most recent conviction being 2010 when he was found guilty of trafficking cocaine.

McCray was being held on a $250,000 bond and McShepherd has a $7,500 bond.

Property records from the Lorain County auditor’s website lists the property owner as Jackie Allgood, who has an Elyria P.O. Box.

They look like they are dirty take a bath and cut that nasty looking mops off your heads.

  • Tom

They’re probably happy to go to jail. Cot and three squares a day…

  • SniperFire

McShepard and McCray. They must be Irish.

  • bROWNS77

Way to sneak that rental stuff in, lmao!
Boy, does Brinda and her crew really want to pass that inspection thing so they can
make as much money as they can steal from landlords.
She is becoming Hitler, wanting to go through your houses and
“inspect ” them, then charge you for it! What a joke!
Next , they will be going door to door and doing inspections.
The only difference is they are not armed gunmen doin it!

    • Pablo Jones

I can just see it if it becomes law. There will be a news story about an inspector that tried to inspect a rental being used by drug dealers that got shot. Or there will be a story of the inspectors inspecting the same rental over and over while they pick up their drugs.

    • Mark B

It is to the point that it is actually pathetic how much the Elyria administration has the CT in their pocket , and the schools too. Its to the point that is all the really matters to the CT .

    • SniperFire

      ‘She is becoming Hitler’

Looks like she has her Goebbels as well in a media which will do her bidding.

  • Jennifer Williams

Blame it on the rain! Yeah Yeah

  • John Davidson

What landlord that has a clean respectable property would want rent to these two. Scum people don’t deserve a decent place to live.

    • bROWNS77

Exactly! I would have never rented to that scum!
It’s not to hard to do a background check, I mean ,
you can get it for free on the court website!
Still, this crap to go through your house and inspect it
is complete crap . Do you think if the rental house passed the
Brinda inspection they wouldn’t have sold crack rocks?
      Give me a break !
I propose that the city does a free state wide search
on all tenants for me , while they are doing an inspection
then do an inspection every 6 months to babysit my
      tenants for me.
If I’m paying all this tax and inspection fees, I WANT

    Neck Tattoo…

      Pants on the ground ?

  • golfingirl

All drug traffickers live in “deplorable” conditions.

Their way of life is deplorable and despicable.

    • wow

      like your husband?!? wink wink.

      • golfingirl

        Why is that wow?

Because is a very successful executive in the pharma industry he is the equivalent to a bunch of crack dealers.

He works with oncolytics….otherwise known as cancer drugs

If you, or anyone in your family, ever suffers from cancer, go call your local drug dealer, and ask him for the cure, if you hate pharma that much.

Tell that to a new parent, who has a child with leukemia. Used to be a death sentence, now has a 98% cure rate. Thanks to new drug treatments.

Or the child with Fabry or Gauchier Disease. Life expectancy was 6 months. Now a normal lifespan through the miracle of modern pharmaceuticals.

I bet if given the choice between life and death, the difference being the administration of a drug, you would choose the later.

What do you want, an apology for saving the lives of millions and making a successful living in the process? Heaven forbid he should profit from his hard work and positive contribution to society

People like you make me sick!!!!

        • Razorback Twou

Makes you sick? See if your husband has something for that.

          • golfingirl

            Great idea….maybe a little ondansetron.

While I’m at it, I’ll find out if he can recommend something to raise your I.Q.

          • JHL27

She most likely is doped up on legal drugs calling everyone out and being on here all the time, can you say hypocrite and addict?

  • ekwaykway

McShepard really hammed it up for the camera, very smug.

  • Koree Michael

How can you judge these men??? Its okay for politicians to make millions easily by continuing to opress these unforntunate descendants of slaves but yet you people can sit up and act like these guys and millions of other young black guys arent human beings just because they are battling the same poverty by any means necessary that has been systematically cast upon them by descendants of slave owners. Now there being thrown in prison for trying to fight this poverty and you people sit there and pass judgment

    • golfingirl

Isn’t the President black? The top political office in the country.

How about the U.S. Attorney General…the highest law enforcement position in the United States?

Were their desecendents slaves also, or are they just a couple of “Uncle Toms?”

What have they done to improve the plight of the black man? Sure haven’t created many employment opportunities for young blacks so they can make an honest living, have they?

So their behaviors are excusable because their great-grandaddies were slaves?

They continue their own “slavery” through their actions. You break the law, you pay the price, regardless of race.

The “slave excuse” has run its course. Get over it and move on!

Your words are that of a true racist!

      • Koree Michael

First of all you dont know me lady..a lot of my BEST friends since elementary school and to this day are white.. you wake up and be black for a year and lets see how your perception changes…lets see you grow up bein black, trying to get a job or walking around a store without somebody thinking your gonna steal have no clue you could not and would not walk a mile in the shoes of a black man..period
And no the presidents mom is white..both my parents are black and native american so yeah… you couldnt imagine the struggle you can onlt rely on yout ignorant, silver spoon fed perspective..and for your FYI i love all races as god as my witness

        • golfingirl

And all this because your ancestors were slaves?

Maybe, just maybe, some of the stereotyping exist today because of the actions of certain groups of people, not because their great grandparents were slaves.

When it comes to criminals, I am an equal opportunity hater.

I criticize whites, hispanics, asians ….any race equally…. when they commit crimes against law abiding citizens. They destroy neighborhoods, endanger our children and are a burden to society.

I wish they would just go away…. black, white or purple. But they never will and have to be dealt with and punished.

But your statement that slavery is still holding them back and responsible for their criminal activity is ludicrous.

Look at the Jews, how many were killed during the holocaust, entire families. But they put it behind them and have moved on.

Time for others to do the same.

        • golfingirl

“Cali N-word get da baddest hoes……period”

From an earlier post of yours…..and you blame your problems on slavery?

          Really? Get a clue!

Hope you don’t talk that way during a job interview.

(Not sure if I can even post your filthy language here)

          • Koree Michael

Really lady???..changing the subject are we? Now you attack my character which is a simple critical thinking error…a diversion to evade the whole point..the bottom line is this country was built on the backs of slaves not jews or whites…slaves. ..if you knew your history you would know that african american slaves were the number one valued asset to this country…no machine or organization was valued more…the whites in the south were willing to die to keep slavery through civil war…and all u have to say is get over it??? Blacks were MURDERED for trying to get educated smh….

          • golfingirl

If the past was “built on the backs of blacks,” as you say, then the present is built on the backs of non-blacks.

Not changing the subject at all, it is very relevant.

You criticize me for what you incorrectly think is singling out blacks when they commit a crime, but you in turn call women of your own race “hoes.” As a white woman, I am offended! That term is both derogatory and disgusting and shows your true feeling about another class of human beings…..women.

Can’t have it both ways. Complain that blacks are prejudiced against, but you do the same to women of all races.

Your own race, the Africans, sold out their own brothers in capturing and selling slaves to other countries.

And it was the whites in the North who killed their own blood brothers to free the slaves during the Civil War. I think that makes us even!

          • Koree Michael

You are blinded by your own ignorance….when blacks enslave whites for 400 years and force them to build an entire country we will be even…of course that will never happen

          • SniperFire

Every race was enslaved at one time or another. And nobody sold people into slavery in the history of the world like the Africans. The Americas were chock full of slavery before the white people got into the act. But the United States was the framework that ended all of that. It is up to you to let that go and join the modern world, but you obviously won’t.

          • golfingirl

            No, it will never happen.

So where is your apology for referring to black women as “hoes?”

See, I am defending blacks. You are denigrating them.

Or are only black men important to you? Forget about black women.

          • Lewis LaCook

“If the past was “built on the backs of blacks,” as you say, then the present is built on the backs of non-blacks.”

So, how many of the products you use every day are either assembled or manufactured by non-white populations?

          • golfingirl

Not what I said at all.

            I stated “non-blacks,” not “non-white” populations.

            Huge difference.

Non-blacks include the Chinese etc., who manufacturer much of what is consumed in the U.S.

            Does that answer your question?

          • Lewis LaCook

Well, let’s be honest: we enslaved them, brought them here, fought a long war to free them, denied them rights just about up until mid-20th century, then pushed them into the worst parts of our cities, all the while (and let’s really be honest) discriminating against them in often fatal ways (if Trayvon Martin had been white, would he be alive right now?).

I mean, you’re displaying right here the very kind of attitude that they’ve had to struggle against during their entire history in this country. How would you and I have persevered through the struggles they’ve had to?

          • Lewis LaCook

And, before you answer, think back to the last time you were tailed in a store because of your race, and the last time you were pulled over or stopped by law enforcement because of the color of your skin.

          • Koree Michael

She cant imagine the struggle…you see she how fast she called me racist even though i have had white friends since first grade and we had sleep overs, birthday partys, field trips, summer camps, etc together…everytime i walk past a homeless white man on the street i give them atleast 5 bucks …But she calls me a racist?? Sheis using very unimpressive defense mechanisms

          • Lewis LaCook

It’s humanity’s most tragic flaw: we mistake our own experience of the world for how the world is. I know that sounds a little pretentious, but it’s true. Add to that a couple decades of political parties pointing at one scapegoat or another and laying blame on them for suffering that in reality stems from systemic failure and you end up with a people divided–i.e., the “United” States.

          • golfingirl

            So what is your point?

Are you suggesting we give black criminals a break, even those, as in this story, who have very long criminal records. One chance after another?

So how many chances should they get? In the case of Mario above, it would be about ten so far.

How many more chances does society owe him? Give me the number.

Is ten chances enough, maybe twelve….how about 25?

            Give me the number Koree.

        • Otter

So the president isn’t black enough?

        • Otter

I love this! Some of my best friends are white, followed by, and no the presidents mom is white, both of my parents are black, and native american……Really? The president isn’t black enough for you? Try growing up as a child who has one parent that is black, and one that is white.

      • Koree Michael

the word ‘picnic’ originated in southern ‘family outings’ during which white people joyfully lynched African Americans.

    • SniperFire

‘How can you judge these men?’

      With a jury.

      • Koree Michael

A racist jury with no soul…Modern day slavery.. If we were to go back about 70 plus years and prosecute the racist white men who lynched blacks in front of the whole town for entertainment, broadcasting it in the news papers…then i would respect the judicial system…

        • golfingirl

No jury, he admitted to the crimes. He was caught “red-handed.”

          Look it up yourself.

        • SniperFire

You are a joke, dude. Blacks murder more white people each and every year than ALL the blacks lynched during the entire 86 year history of the KKK. And in 1860, 1% of Americans actually owned slaves and I am pretty sure none of them were Ohioans. You get nowhere playing vicitm and only insure your continued misery by refusing to join the modern world.

          • Koree Michael

Never the less this country was built by torturing black slaves no matter how u slice it its a fact! They brought slaves here slaves didnt bring themselves. Anything else you say is a defense mechanism designed to keep your ego and inner morale safe it is notreality… I am a graduate of psychology not some ignorant moron

          • SniperFire

Some of the colonies were certainly built on slave labor. Not ;this county’, you blithering moron. You are deflecting and playing victim. The United States (THIS COUNTRY) is the first experiment in equality that has EVER existed, and the last remaining defense of freedom in the world. But tools such as yourself don’t even understand that and want to make it just another totalitarian sewer where rights are freedom WILL eventually be squashed once again – victimizing and enslaving the weakest amongst us.

          • Koree Michael

Some colonies??? Every president until the end of the 18th century owned slaves….without slaves America would not be the richest country on the planet. And who reeps the benefit of 400 years of stolen labor??? The descendants of those barabaric slave owners and traders (the rich white silver spoon fed people and crooked white politicians of today)…who was on the jury that let Zimmerman who brutally shot and killed Trayvon Martin who was just minding his own buisiness get away with capitol murder? Not one black person was on that Jury…The Jim Crow laws were not abolished until recently…i rest my case

          • SniperFire

‘without slaves America would not be the richest country on the planet.’

Utter, unsubstantiated nonsense. Americas great wealth is a product of the industrial revolution and the explosion of worker PRODUCTIVITY due to AUTOMATION.

You really know next to nothing.

          • golfingirl

And now his race contributes to the draining of the resources of the country in cities like Elyria.

Maybe he should read the article on Amis, all those kids being supported by taxpayers.

Blame that one on slavery too.

          • Lewis LaCook

America’s “great wealth” is the result of reducing the competition to rubble during WWII.

          • golfingirl

            You are correct.

How dare we kill Hitler and the bury the Nazi party under all that rubble.

I mean, they were only killing Jews, not Blacks.

          • Lewis LaCook

Show me where I said defeating Hitler was a bad thing.

          • SniperFire

That has a great deal to do with it as well, and I have presented that story several times myself. At one point in time we produced half of everything being made in the world.

          • SniperFire

‘The descendants of those barabaric slave owners and traders (the rich white silver spoon fed people and crooked white politicians of today).’

What percentage of the white population are decendents of slave owners? Are you an idiot, liar or both?

          • Koree Michael

Those with more than 500 slaves were essentially millionaires in $1860…
JPMorgan Chase reported that between 1831 and 1865, two of its predecessor banks (Citizens Bank and Canal Bank in Louisiana) accepted approximately 13,000 slaves as loan collateral and seized approximately 1,250 slaves when plantation owners defaulted on their loans.

Profits from the slave trade accumulated the huge amounts of money in the western banks and in the western insurance companies needed to finance not only the global shipping companies that put europe and america at the head of highly lucrative world trade, but profits from slavery in the western hemisphere and profits from the atlantic slave trade also financed both the scientific and industrial revolutions of the western world. Slavery and the theft of america made europe and america great. Slavery and the ******** of indians were the water and fertilizer of the WHOLE MODERN ERA and is THE SOURCE OF GLOBAL EURO-AMERICAN ********* AND POWER–economically, technologically and militarily. The whole modern technological era was watered and fertilized with the bones and blood of millions upon millions of dead africans and dead indians.Slavery was not just in the american southern plantations but lasted in the north until the the 1840s“As the historian James Oliver Horton noted, slaveholders and the commodity crops of the South had a strong influence on United States politics and economy; New York City’s economy was closely tied to the South through shipping and manufacturing, for instance. By 1822 half of its exports were related to cotton…By 1810, 75 percent of all African Americans in the North were free. By 1840, virtually all African Americans in the North were free.[29] Vermont’s 1777 constitution made no allowance for slavery. In Massachusetts, slavery was successfully challenged in court in 1783 in a freedom suit by Quock Walker as being in contradiction to the state’s new constitution of 1780 providing for equality of men. Freed slaves were subject to racial segregation in the North, and it took decades for some states to extend the franchise to them.[30]Most northern states passed legislation for gradual abolition. As a result of this gradualist approach, New York did not free its last slaves until 1829, Rhode Island had five slaves still listed in the 1840 census, Pennsylvania’s last slaves were freed in 1847, Connecticut did not completely abolish slavery until 1848, and slavery was not completely lifted in New Hampshire and New Jersey until the nationwide emancipation in 1865.[31]–article “slavery in the united states”– wikipediaMany of the euro–americans today claiming their families arrived after slavery ended or were here during slavery, but had no real benefit from slavery are full of it…THERE WOULD BE LITTLE TO NOTHING HERE IN TERMS OF INFRASTRUCTURE IN AMERICA FOR THE LATER IMMIGRATIONS OF WHITE FOLKS TO COME OVER AND ADD TO IF IT WERE NOT FOR SLAVE LABOR. Slave labor cleared away the huge forests, built the early ports and shipping docks for trade between the americas and europe. Slave labor loaded and unloaded the departing and arriving ships. In the american continents in general, both north and south america, slave labor dug the canals for commerce. Slave labor drained the swamps to clear away the habitat of the swarms of mosquitoes. Dramatically reducing mosquitoes and swamps made greater white settlement possible because the wide spread malaria carried by large swarms of mosquitoes from virginia to brazil, at first was too much for white settlers to endure in the americas.Blacks were used for this work because they were seen as more resistant to malaria than whites and euro-diseases killed off indian slaves in droves. Slave labor built the early roads and bridges in the americas–slave labor laid down the cobblestones for wall street itself in new york. THREE CENTURIES OF SLAVE TRADING AND SLAVE LABOR BUILT UP THE US AND WESTERN EUROPEAN MONEY SUPPLY OF BANKS SO THAT THE BANKS AND FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS COULD LATER MAKE THE LOANS NEEDED TO BUILD THE SAME INDUSTRIES AND MANUFACTURING PLANTS THAT HERE IN THE STATES FREE BLACKS COULD NOT GET A JOB IN UNTIL THE WHITE LABOR SHORTAGES OF WORLD WAR ONE AND WORLD WAR TWO. Blacks were also artisans and craftsmen and not just farm labor. On the large plantations blacks were the iron workers, carpenters, brick layers and builders. Often these skilled blacks were “rented out” for profit to other whites by the slave owners and did skilled, non-farming work in many cases–especially in the north. Remember that slavery in the north did not end until the 1840s.We did not just plant, tend and harvest cotton, tobacco, rice and sugar cane. Who is john henry? why is the legend of a big, unusually strong, hard working, black “steel driving man” the symbol associated overwhelmingly in Us folklore with the building of the american railroads? Why is there folklore about the symbol of the black man who worked so incomparably, ferociously swinging his sledge hammer all day long building america’s railroads– a hammer that in folklore was twice the weight of a normal sledge hammer btw? “John henry” swung that hammer so hard, driving railroad spikes for the railroad, laying down mile after mile of new rail road tracks. John henry hammered through solid rock better than the drill on a steam-powered engine. He hammered so much in winning the fabled race with a steam engine that his heart burst and “John Henry died with his hammer in his hand.” Where is the irish-american version of “john henry”? Where is the irish-american steel driving man? The chinese worked building the railroads in california and the far west, but where is the chinese “wong henry”? America and europe owe us trillions of dollars –that’s why they want you to forget about the past and “move on”–because your money is still fattening up their pockets. Know your history like you know the days of the week. That way you don’t forget that your ancestors were worked into early graves for 3 centuries building america’s trillion dollar wealth and we got literally nothing in return. You don’t forget that europeans were poverty stricken, disease ridden, and except for their ships and firearms, relatively technologically backwards, malnourished, generally unwashed and horribly nasty until the theft of the americas and 3 centuries of the atlantic slave trade followed by a century of raping africa under colonialism made europe as rich and powerful as it is today. Study your history so you don’t fall for the “okey doke” and don’t end up buying marvin gaye’s music with thieves like “robin trick’s” name scribbled on it, or buying michael jackson’s style from “just a timberfake”.Chris GibbsReplyAugust 31, 2013 at 12:59 amEven Steven! You know I don’t hear Jews bringing up the Holocaust and that only end about 60 years ago.

          • Bob

Dude slavery ended over 170 years ago. Let it go.

          • Koree Michael

Ima take a wild guess Bob…. your white and wouldnt know the first thing about what Dr. Martin Luther King Jr was fighting wouldnt want to grow up being black…you wouldnt survive all the oppression and discrimination

          • Bob

What does my color have to do with the fact that you want to continue to live in the past.

Discrimination and oppression ended in the 1960′s.

But I do like the fact that you think it is ok to commit a crime because of the so called continued oppression by the white man. Because it is the white man that is making people stay on welfare and not to get an education.

When there is a college fund such as the United Negro College fund, that is set up so only white people can use it. Then you have a complaint.

I as a white man couldn’t get any money from the UNCF. Is that fair?? No.

Is there am NAAWP. No but there is an NAACP. Is that fair. Again No.

So again Get over yourself. Move on and maybe just maybe you will find that thing are better then you can see through your white man hating glasses.

Take off your white man hating glasses. And maybe you will see that it is your own race keeping you down.

Your comments show me that you are no better then what you think me as a white man.

Move on Dude. It’s the 2014 not 1914 or even 1814.

            Here’s a story for you.

back in 1993. My friends and I went down to the State Highway Patrol offices to see about applying to become patrolmen.

Want to know what happened??? No well to bad.

We were laugh out of the office, by a black man who told us that if we were black and or female. He could of has us in classes starting that following week.

So yeah I guess you have it rough as a black man. Because people were throwing jobs at you.

            AGAIN Move on dude.

          • Koree Michael

Heres an even better story for you..Due to the fact that your ancestors dominated my great grandparents..and the predisposition of poverty that has since been passed on to most African Americans of today because of it….Only god can judge me…only he without sin can tell me of my means to justify my ends$$$ Mario and Anthony see it as make money by selling dope or end up in jail or both… i never said it was right but to enslave an entire race is wrong…the system is set up to lock up dope dealers because the system knows that slavery and jim crow laws have left a lot of young African Americans with no other choice…theres a reason the government will never pay us reparations for slavery..They systematically pushed us to ghettos and slums and make these laws against making money from drugs so they can lock up as many African Americans as they can.

          • Bob

Yawn. You are right only the Black man ever suffered in this world.

Yes we our slaves today ourselves…I agree…its called Wage Slavery…and right now 3 million hardworking Americans have lost their unemployment benefits but that doesnt get a fraction of the coverage Donald Sterling gets or even the latest drug bust gets….Its a conspiracy….but they have billions of dollars to spend in making politicians live like kings and queens

          • Bob

            Get over it.

      • golfingirl

But the jury system is unfair.

To be properly judged by their “peers,” would require twelve people with long criminal records, who live in a flop house, and whose great grandparents were slaves.

Forget the fact Mario has already been “judged,” …actually admitted his guilt…many, many times.

But three generations ago, his family was forced into servitude, so he should never be held responsible for his criminal actions.

Fact is, the crime is black on black for the most part in Elyria, and using excuses like slavery does nothing to help them get out of this cycle.

If Koree really wanted to help, he would stop making excuses for his “brothers,” and instead insist they take accountability for their actions.

And he would stop calling his “sisters” hoes!

        • Otter

Bob you have no soul…how can you sit their and have no empathy for African American slaves and pretend as if it has no link to the poverty blacks go through today..if it were the other way around and your great grandparents were beaten raped murdered enslaved and deprived of education you wouldnt be saying any of that

    • Ryan Costa

anyone can judge anyone. these men are not hated because they are black, they are disliked because they are terrible. they don’t battle poverty, they build poverty.

      • Koree Michael

Ryan you too have no soul…let it had been your great grandparents murderded beaten and enslaved and then you would have a viable argument

        • SniperFire

Who are you to judge Ryan?

If Ryan’s soul is like my own, then I suggest ten chances to straighten up one’s life is enough. Black, white or purple!

These guys probably think the Emancipation Proclamation is a new type of street drug.

          What is you number Koree?

At what point do you agree they should be locked up?

How many chances does society owe them because their family MAY have been slaves generations ago?

          • Koree Michael

At what point should they be locked up you say? At the point when every african american slave descendant is paid a salary for hundreds if years if stolen labor.. Bank of America bought slaves so did Chase bank..Do you see them being prosecuted???

          • Otter

So a cash payment, that’s all you want? That would make it all better for you? What about the mule? want that too? By the time you divide up the 400 years of “stolen” labor by the number of descendants, how much do think that might be?

          • Koree Michael

Bank of America bought slaves so did Chase bank..Do you see them being prosecuted??? No they were bailed out with billions of dollars..when do we as African American slave descendants get our bail out????

          • Otter

First, Bank of America’s “bail out” was originally paid to Merrill Lynch, BOA bought them in 2009. Both (as have many other companies) have paid back their bail out money….you see, it was a loan not a hand out.
(really, if you want to defend your position, you should check the facts)
Did they buy slaves/profit from slavery, yes they did, are they being prosecuted, no, statute of limitations aside, it wasn’t illegal at the time (wrong yes, illegal no)
You want to be paid, cash money, that’s the bottom line isn’t it? So how much? What is the dollar amount that you think the people who are descendants of slave owners owe you? After all, they should be the ones to pay you, since they are the ones who have caused you so much suffering.
Here’s an idea for you, go to school, get a law degree, start a class action lawsuit against the banks, and descendants of slave owners, collect the money when you win, then distribute it to all of the decedents of slaves.

          • Koree Michael

So just because it wasnt illegal at the time for banks to profit from slaves I should just forget about the thousands of slaves/people Bank of America and
Chase Bank owned…You know i bet Hitler thought that what he was doing to the jews wasnt illegal at the time either since he made the laws for his land. To Hitler genocide wasnt “illegal at the time”. So these bank owners and their families still have billions of dollars thanks in part to the fact that they tortured, bought and sold my great great grandparents and im suppose to somehow have the money for law school become a lawyer and start a class action lawsuit to get back what was stolen from us all because it wasnt “illegal at the time”? You words are that of a sociopathic white supremacist

          • Otter

And you are like a dog chasing it’s tail, getting no where.

          • Otter

I don’t think you know the meaning of sociopath…much like picnic, Look it up…..oh, I forgot you “graduated psychology” one more thing, I’m not white….

        • Ryan Costa

My ancestors fought for the north to free the slaves.

          • golfingirl

Mine as well, and several were killed.

I want to be paid for their efforts. I simply cannot go on with my life until I receive just compensation.

Maybe I am now allowed to go rob a bank, after all, I can’t possibly be prosecuted for my actions. My great, great grandparents died to free the oppressed.

My ancestors were killed in the Civil War, which gives me about 10 free passes, like Mario in the story.

I am liking this line of reasoning. I can do as I please, without any fear of retribution.

          • Koree Michael

Wow now i know your a racist….the big difference your great great grandparents were not slaves…i commend them for helping to fight slavery but there is no comparison…if i were white, or in your shoes i would just say no comment because until you are black and your great great grandparents were thrown off of slave ships into the ocean, the rest brought here separated from their families forced to work 18 hours a day under the hot sun beaten, shot, lynched, raped and with no compensation…preyed on by KKK i mean do we need to sit down and watch the history channel or Roots…your heart is rotten for thinking you have the right to tell us as African Americans how we should feel about being brutally victimized, used and treated as wild animals for 400 years…you have 0 empathy because you cannot imagine yourself as as one of those slaves or even their descendants myself Mario and Anthony

Due to the fact that your ancestors dominated my great grandparents..and the predisposition of poverty that has since been passed on to most African Americans of today because of it….Only god can judge me…only he without sin can tell me of my means to justify my ends$$$ Mario and Anthony see it as make money by selling dope or end up in jail or both… i never said it was right but to enslave an enitire race is wrong…the system is set up to lock up dope dealers because the system knows that slavery and jim crow laws have left a lot of young African Americans with no other choice…theres a reason the government will never pay us reparations for slavery..They systematically pushed us to ghettos and slums and make these laws against making money from drugs so they can lock up as many African Americans as they can…#modern day slavery

    • golfingirl

      Thank you for your opinion.

If people like him “comes a dime a dozen,” I bet you wish you were a part of that “dime.”

Apparently someone cares about my husband, since my answer was in direct response to someone’s comment about him.

Again, don’t like my comments, simply click on the little dash to the right of my name and my comment magically disappears. Go ahead, try it. Bet you can’t do it, can you?

Fact is, you like what I write and cannot bring yourself to ignoring my comments.

      Have a nice day.

Anna merriman you should be ashamed to make a living judging african americans. Do you know the original meaning of picnic??? I rest my case

        • Otter

Picnic, 17th century french picquet-nique. A social gathering where each attendee brings a share of the food.
Your definition is an urban legend , started by a chain email, that spread across the internet.(google it)
Before you attack….Lynching of any kind was horrific, so were the gas chambers, so was slavery, all thankfully in the past. You may have missed the part of history where there were people of all colors who helped slaves escape (the underground railroad) white people who hid escaping slaves in their homes, and those who fought a war against slavery, many who gave up their lives so you could live as a free man. Those people were my ancestors. I don’t judge people based on what they look like, but I do judge them based on their actions. I suggest you do the same, stop finger pointing, and laying the blame on history.

          • Koree Michael

Even if picnic was an Urban Legend it still happened..Southern whites joyully lynched blacks while the whole town watched with their families as if it were some kind of cynical T.V show…That was hell on earth to my ancestors

          • Otter

I think we can all agree it happened, and it was wrong. Selling drugs and blaming slavery is ridiculous. The Civil war was fought so that all people could get an education, get a job. Why don’t you honor those people who fought, and gave up their lives so that you can have a better life than they did.

        • golfingirl

You know Koree, sometimes the shoe just fits!

It is men like those in this story that continue to commit the real crimes against their race. They push dope and murder their own.

Doesn’t it bother you that blacks are killing other blacks?

Instead, you spend your time focused on racism, and justifying the problems through blaming it on slavery. As if, something that happened generations ago excuses their behaviors today.

Your position does not help the very people you claim you are here to serve.

If they were white, my comments would be the same. Lock them up and get them off the streets.

You never did answer my question below, so I will ask it once more:

So how many chances should they get? In the case of Mario above, it would be about ten so far.

How many more chances does society owe him? Give me the number.

Is ten chances enough, maybe twelve….how about 25?

          Give me the number Koree.

          • Koree Michael

When will we be paid back for centuries of forced stolen labor??? And dont give me that negro college fund B.S…..when will we be paid back?? Tell me this and i will gladly give you a number.

          • golfingirl

            Never! That is my answer.

I think you are trying to personally profit from the sweat of your ancestors, if they were indeed slaves.

Now I understand your motivation, it is all about greed. Personal gain which you claim you are entitled to based on labor of relatives, you never even met.

It never was about the guys in this story, was it? It has always been about you!

Take your case somewhere else, because in case you haven’t noticed, it is not playing very well here.
