LAGRANGE — A domestic dispute ended with a shooting early Wednesday, leaving a LaGrange man hospitalized and a woman in custody.

LaGrange Police Chief Chad Duensing said officers and Lorain County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched around 1 a.m. to 225 W. Main St. for a possible shooting.

Police arrived to find Dennis Golden injured inside his home.

Duensing said Golden had been at a local establishment with Tanya Estepp, 42, when a domestic argument occurred that continued when they returned home.

“A round was fired, striking him in the chest,” Duensing said.

Golden was flown to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland and was listed in serious condition Wednesday night.

Police charged Estepp with felonious assault. She was being held in Lorain County Jail.

Kent Adams, who lives near 225 W. Main St., said Golden and Estepp moved to the area recently.

“I’ve never seen anything strange,” Adams said, adding that Golden regularly tends to a garden in the backyard and that the couple has been working on beautifying their house since they moved in. He said the two seemed like a normal young couple.

Police contacted the Ohio Attorney General’s Office Bureau of Criminal Investigations, which processed the scene.
